A school on “Habitability in the Solar System and Beyond” will be held in Nantes on November 28th to December 2nd 2022.

The school is one of the advanced didactic action of the Geoplanet project, an Erasmus + Strategic Partnership, which includes the Universities of Nantes Porto, Coimbra, Chieti/Pescara and Padua whose selected Master and Ph.D. students can participate free of charge.

Course topics

The course foresee theoretical lessons, group activities even in VR and a field trip.

The topics will include:

• Emergence of life on the Earth
• Mars exploration
• Aqueous environment and current habitability on Mars
• Organic matter in ancient Mars
• External Solar System exploration
• Icy Moons and their hydrothermal systems
• Exoplanets

Participation is possible for a restricted number of Ph.D or Master's degree students of the University of Padua,  with a refund of their travel expenses up to 275 € and a refund of their daily expenses up to 58 €
