The Department of Geosciences also hosts the laboratories of the CIRCe (Interdepartmental Research Centre for the Study of Cementitious Materials and Hydraulic Binders).

CIRCe is the only Italian centre dedicated to research on cementitious materials and the formulation of binders for the construction industry and deals with fundamental research, applied research for industry and specialist consultancy.

The centre was founded as a collaboration between the Department of Geosciences and the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (ICEA) of the University of Padua.
