The book “La pianura del Friuli Venezia Giulia - Geomorfologia e Geologia del Quaternario”, edited by Prof. Alessandro Fontana from the Department of Geosciences at the University of Padua, will be presented on November 28 in the Parliament Hall of Udine Castle.

Published by the Geological Service of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the book brings together contributions from 15 experts and offers an updated synthesis of the region's geomorphology and geology. Spanning 320 pages with over 170 color illustrations, it examines the tectonic, stratigraphic, and geomorphological evolution of the plain, featuring recent studies on the Udine Castle Hill, the dunes of Aquileia, and the region’s subsurface.

The event will also commemorate the 70th anniversary of the death of Egidio Feruglio, a pioneer in modern studies of plains and a key figure in regional geology.

Copies of the book will be distributed free of charge to attendees while supplies last.
