Geophysical methods for the study of the Earth Critical Zone

11.03.2024

The Earth Critical Zone is at the interface between the processes in the subsoil and in the atmosphere and in recent years has received a wave of strong interest, mostly because it is important for climate modelling.

The investigation of the Earth Critical Zone is one of the main goals of the Excellence Project "Geosciences for Sustainable Development" and in this framework Matteo Censini, a Ph.D. student of Department of Geosciences, started his research work.

His project focuses on the study of the dynamics occurring in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum (SPAC) by using different advanced geophysical methods, as he explains in the video.
