More great sporting achievements for Claudia Fabiola Benvegnù

Claudia Fabiola Benvegnù, a Canadian canoe athlete and student at the Department of Geosciences, continues to achieve great success in sport. On Saturday 11 May Benvegnù won the overall C1 category women's title at the Italian marathon championships, by covering in 1:27’32.73 the 14.25 km of the competition in the waters of the Arno River (Florence).

The Canottieri Padua athlete is also involved in the “Remare” project with which the University of Padua aims to promote physical activity among students by bringing students closer to the fascinating world of rowing.

At the first national rowing meeting, which ended on 21 April in San Miniato, the University of Padua ranked first in the overall ranking with 202 points ahead of the University of Genoa (168) and Milan (152). In this competition, Claudia Fabiola Benvegnù won the gold medal in the women's singles rowing category and silver in the mixed doubles category where she competed with Paolo Caldieraro.
