Geological mission to Lofoten Islands
22.08.2024
A group of researchers from the Department of Geosciences at the University of Padua, led by Professor Matteo Massironi and including researchers Riccardo Pozzobon and Bruno Casarotto, recently went to the Lofoten Islands in Norway. Their objective was to conduct a geological mission using a hyperspectral drone to survey outcrops that resemble lunar highlands (anorthosites).
The campaign was carried out in collaboration with the University of Trieste (Dr. Ana Černok) and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Prof. Patrizia Ferretti). Sampling activities for future laboratory analyses were also carried out as part of the mission
