Academic agreement between the University of Padua and the China University of Geosciences di Beijing

A relevant academic agreement was recently signed between the University of Padua and the China University of Geosciences in Beijing.

The memorandum of understanding is part of a collaboration agreement that the two universities have started a few years ago: it is based on the synergy between the Department of Geosciences and the Department of Land and Agro-Forestry Systems and their shared intention of developing a partnership international with the most important Geosciences university in China.

The objectives of the memorandum of understanding include:

  • scientific research, and joint lab on lunar, planetary science and geosciences
  • educational activities in subjects of common interest;
  • mobility of academic staff and researchers;
  • mobility of students and doctoral candidates for academic activities to be recognized through a procedure jointly agreed by the Parties, e.g. mutual credit recognition, sharing courses, etc.;
  • exchange of information and bibliographic materials, sharing of know-how about high complex technical-scientific sets, higher education extension activities, included the mobility of technical, administrative and librarian staff connected to these goals;
  • participation in seminars and academic meetings;
  • joint education program for undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students

Wu Yan, Vice Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Education, was also present at the event and after the signing ceremony he visited Chinese teachers and students representatives of the students who work and study in Padua for a cordial greeting.
