For the Department of Geosciences, 2022 was a very important year which culminated in the inclusion by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) among the Departments of excellence, with the project titled "The Geosciences for Sustainable Development”.
A recognition that arrived in December at the end of a year particularly full of initiatives, projects and innovations including the launch of the new Bachelor’s Degree "Earth and Climate Dynamics” which will start in October.
The aim of the Department yearbook has been, since its first edition, to provide an overview not only of the staff working at the Department of Geosciences, but also research, teaching, laboratories, field activities and communication activities, without forgetting the increasingly important international dimension. As Prof. Nicola Surian, Head of the Department of Geosciences, recalls introducing this fourth edition of the Yearbook, we keep attracting several students from all over the world and 25-35% of the Ph.D. students came from abroad over the last three years.
