Training and Dialogue: Analysis of Ground Deformation Processes

Training Event: “Analysis of Ground Deformation Processes: Historical Events, Available Tools, and Future Approaches.”
On January 23-24, 2025, the Department of Geosciences at the University of Padua will host an important training event organized by Spoke VS2 RETURN. The conference focuses on analyzing ground deformation processes and risk mitigation strategies, featuring contributions from young researchers, technicians, and academics.
The two-day event will include presentations by expert guests on topics such as gravitational phenomena, advanced technologies, and large-scale analysis strategies, along with contributions from young researchers involved in the RETURN project.
Although registrations for the training sessions are now closed, students, faculty, PhD candidates, and researchers are invited to participate in the round table discussion on January 24, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM, in Aula Arduino, Department of Geosciences.
The round table will address the importance of scientific communication in planning and emergency management. Moderated by Prof. Filippo Catani, the discussion will feature experts from academia, institutions, and the professional sector:
Chiara Anzolini – University of Padua
Francesca Bozzano – Sapienza University of Rome
Barbara De Fanti – Regional Functional Center, Veneto Region
Danilo Calabrese – LARES Italia
Giulio Fattoretto – Geological and Extractive Activities Service, Veneto Region
Niccolò Iandelli – Geologists’ Association, Veneto Region
For those unable to attend in person, the round table will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Department of Geosciences.
Further Information
The event is organized within the framework of the PE3 PNRR RETURN project, aimed at fostering interdisciplinary, high-level training on geological phenomena and mitigation strategies.
