Bachelor's Degree in Geological Sciences
The Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Padova provides the fundamental concepts and methods of the geosciences. Through the study of the processes that determine the Earth’s evolution, the students acquire the basic skills and abilities necessary to approach with awareness, critical approach and interdisciplinary vision, topical problems for modern human societies. Namely, the sustainable management of the soil and subsoil, the prevention of natural hazards (hydrogeological, volcanic, seismic), the prospection and sustainable use of raw materials and energy sources, the protection and management of groundwater.
(main language: Italian)
Bachelor's Degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics (completely held in English)
The Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics provides a strong interdisciplinary advanced training in Earth system sciences based on topics covering solid Earth, oceans, climate, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere dynamics and their related complexities. With innovative teaching methods which combine classroom teachings and field activities, students will acquire a technical-scientific background of the most widely used and innovative techniques in remote sensing, satellite data processing, GIS, use of drones, coding and basic modelling.
Students are provided with specific and professionalising skills that are becoming increasingly important to tackle today’s climate challenges and can pursue their studies within a Master’s degree in Earth Dynamics, Geophysics for Natural Risks and Resources or related fields.

Master's Degree in Geophysics for Natural Risks and Resources (completely held in English)
The Master’s course in Geophysics for Natural Risks and Resources has the main goal of educating professionals and researchers capable of approaching in a multi-disciplinary manner the theory and applications of physical methodologies for the exploration and characterization of the subsoil. This exploration can take place ad different spatial scales, from meters to tens and hundreds of kilometers, with aims spanning a large number of application and theoretical areas where the knowledge of soil and subsoil is crucial.
The graduate in Geophysics for Natural Risks and Resources will find job opportunities mainly as Exploration Geophysicist or Applied and Environmental Geophysicist.
In all cases, the graduate can access the regulated profession of Geologist or a research career in Earth Sciences, and to this end the students will be encouraged to continue their studies through Ph.D. both at the national and international levels.
