Geochemical Preparation Laboratory (GPL)

Referente
Maria Chiara Dalconi
Attività
The laboratory is dedicated to preparation of ground solid samples, sediment and water samples for geochemical and chemical analysis. GPL is equipped with two fume hoods and a wide range of tools, equipment and containers to handle solutions and liquid samples.
Strumentazione
- A Milli-Q pure water system produces 18 MΩ.cm water for analytical geochemistry.
- The laboratory houses a graphitization line dedicated to sample preparation for radiocarbon dating. It consists in a stainless steel vacuum line for production of graphite from carbon dioxide for subsequent AMS (Accelerator Mass Spectrometer) measurements (AMS is an external facility).
- Benchtop centrifuges 10k and 5k rpm.
